About Me

I have always loved reading and listening to stories and can still remember the stories I read as a child and the pictures that accompanied them. I’ve drawn and painted from an early age and particularly enjoyed painting and drawing animals, which I still enjoy today.

I studied illustration and graphic design at Bradford School of Art & Design, graduating in 1997 with a degree in Art & Design. Since then I have worked as a freelance children’s book illustrator, working for clients that include: Oxford University Press, Ladybird Books, Parragon, Pinwheel Publishing Ltd. and Folens. I have also illustrated the ‘Beebie the Rabbit’ stories and written and illustrated the ‘Bones the Odd Job Dog’ stories for BBC Cbeebies bedtime hour.

As well as illustrating I also paint and have recently worked on a series of paintings inspired by some of the Aesops Fables. I hope that these paintings along with my other work convey some of my sense of humour, which is such an important part of my work. Another illustrator once said that one of the purposes of illustration is to delight. And that is very much the aim of my work too – to charm and delight.

For my illustration work I am represented by Graham-Cameron Illustration, www.gciforillustration.com.
